CAMPANIA AT THE UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION IN DUBAI

From 5th to 11th December the Campania Region will be one of the Italian protagonists at the Universal exhibition in Dubai, world showcase of ideas, projects and innovative models. The participation of the Region at the Italy Pavilion of Expo Dubai will be characterised by institutional moments and cultural workshops with initiatives that for a week will have as theme Territory and Agriculture, Tourism and Culture.

World Expos, organised by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), represent a significant opportunity to promote the territory and to strengthen the internationalisation of the regional system. The Campania Region will join the exhibition of the Italy Pavilion, in the space called "Il Belvedere", with the video-story directed by Gabriele Salvatores and entitled "Beauty connects People" - main theme of the Italian participation in Expo Dubai.

The Campania Region will also take part in the so called "White Space" - Short Stories with the temporary exhibition "Il 'fare campano' tra presente, passato, futuro" (The 'making of Campania' between present, past, future). It will show works of art and handicrafts, to promote the excellence of the Campania Region in the production of handicrafts worldwide and to tell the story of practical "know-how", preserved and refined over the centuries.

During the week, several events will take place to introduce and promote Campania, Ecosistema digitale per la cultura (the Digital Ecosystem for Culture), Campania's food and wine products and the arts of "Campania's know-how".

On Sunday, December 5th, the show "Passione live" - proposed by Fondazione Campania dei Festival - with the Godmother Marisa Laurito, will officially open the Campania pavilion.

The events programme - from 5th to 11th December - is held by the Department of Tourism, the Department of Agriculture, the Directorate General for Cultural Policy and Tourism and realised with the support of Agenzia regionale del Turismo della Campania (Regional Agency for Tourism).

In agreement with the Italian Commissioner's Office for Expo 2020, the Campania Region will join the Italy Pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai also from 6th to 12th February 2022 - focusing on Business, Research and Innovation.
