Ten free performance lessons in Ercolano. From September 9 to October 16, 2021 a series of meetings will be held between Parco Archeologico di Ercolano, Parco Maiuri and Villa Campolieto, by some of the most relevant Italian culture, art and entertainment protagonists. The topics of Hercules' idleness. Matter and bodies between ancient and modern times are: mediterranean diet of the ancient people, pleasure and happiness, eros and food, which are intertwined.

"Fil rouge" of the event, which is related to two important exhibitions promoted by Parco Archeologico, dedicated to wood and food, will be the material culture analysed in its anthropological, historical, philosophical aspects and considered as a constitutive element of the Western imaginary.

This is a theme that will offer the cue for a broader reflection on the question of desire and appetite in a constant back and forth between ancient and modern times and a special attention reserved for eros. Hence, it is a program with a strong internal coherence, in a place, the ancient city of Herculaneum, overflowing with the uncanny signs of daily life of two millennia ago.
